If a report wasn't delivered, you get a refund. If you were charged in error, you get a refund. If our platform failed, you get a refund. Once a report is successfully delivered, the bureau has already charged us — so refunds after delivery are case-by-case. We always look at every request fairly.
1Who This Policy Applies To
This Refund Policy applies to End-Users — the businesses (lenders, landlords, employers, etc.) that pay us to obtain consumer reports through our platform. It is incorporated into our Terms & End-User Agreement. Consumers (the subjects of reports) generally don't pay us directly. If you are a consumer and were charged in error, contact billing@creditreportnow.ai.
2When Refunds Apply
Here's our refund policy at a glance:
| Situation | Refund? |
|---|---|
| Report request canceled before the bureau pull was completed | Full refund |
| You were charged twice for the same transaction | Full refund |
| Our platform failed and the report could not be delivered | Full refund |
| Identity verification failed and report was never pulled | Full refund of pull fee; small ID-check fee may apply |
| Wrong consumer matched (data mismatch caused by your input) | Case-by-case |
| Report successfully delivered, then disputed by you after the fact | Generally no — but appeals reviewed |
| You don't like the contents of an accurate report | No — disputes go through § 1681i |
| Subscription/platform fees after cancellation date | Pro-rated to cancellation date |
| Subscription/platform fees for the current period | No mid-period refund — service continues to period end |
3Cancellation Before Pull
You can cancel any individual report request before the supplying bureau pull is completed. Once we've successfully pulled the report and the bureau has charged us, the per-report fee is generally non-refundable because the cost has already been incurred. Our platform indicates the cancellation cutoff clearly before each pull.
4Billing Errors and Duplicate Charges
If we charged your account in error, including duplicate charges, charges for unsuccessful pulls, or charges in excess of the agreed pricing schedule, we will issue a full refund. Email billing@creditreportnow.ai with the date, amount, and transaction reference. We aim to correct billing errors within 5 business days.
5Subscription and Platform Fees
Recurring platform access or subscription fees are non-refundable for the current billing period once the period has begun. You can cancel at any time and we will not charge subsequent periods. We do not pro-rate refunds within an active period unless required by law or unless the cancellation is due to our service failure.
6How to Request a Refund
Send refund requests to billing@creditreportnow.ai with:
- Your business name and account number.
- Date and amount of the charge.
- Transaction reference or invoice number.
- The reason for the request and any supporting documentation.
- Whether the issue affects multiple transactions (we will batch-review).
You can also call (602) 555-0100 Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM Arizona time.
7Response Times
- Within 2 business days: Acknowledgment that we received your request.
- Within 10 business days: Decision and explanation in writing.
- 5 to 10 business days after approval: Refund posted back to the original payment method. Your bank determines exactly when it appears on your statement.
8Appeals
If we decline a refund, we'll explain why in writing. You may appeal within 30 days by replying to our decision email. A different reviewer who was not part of the original decision will reconsider.
9Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer. We can resolve most issues directly within a few business days. Chargebacks are time-consuming, costly, and may result in account suspension pending resolution. We will defend chargebacks we believe are improper using our complete audit trail of authorizations, identity verifications, and delivery records.
10Statutory Rights Preserved
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any statutory right available to you under applicable law, including the FCRA, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act (Regulation E), or the Fair Credit Billing Act. Consumers always retain the right to dispute information in their consumer reports for free under FCRA § 1681i — see our dispute procedures.
11State Law
If your state law provides greater refund rights than this policy, the more protective rule applies. We comply with state law in all 50 states.
12Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy. Updates apply to charges occurring after the effective date. Existing charges remain governed by the policy in effect when the charge was made.
